Harvest Moon's Lucky Djembe - Black German Sr Buck

Lucky is such a wonderful addition for us & comes from Harvest Moon Angoras http://www.harvestmoonangoras.com/Rabbitry.htm. He has a HUGE head & really nice  solid body. His wool is super nice & he has very good color. I am so excited to see what kind of babies he can produce for us.

When we got him he was freshly shorn & he looked like a little black lamb. People were coming over to make fun of my sweet little boy.

Harvest Moon's Harry Potter - Black German Sr Buck.

Harry is the sweetest boy with very dense wool with wuper nice crimp. I tried to get a picture of the crimp but the camera didn't really capture it very well.

He has that super sweet & laid back personality Germans are known for. We named him Harry Potter because he has a white blaze on his forehead. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan so I hope he will be the start of a whole line of Harry Potter names.

I sheared Harry right after this picture and he produces some really nice, soft wool. This was his first shearing so I'm interested to see how his senior coat turns out. This coat was almost the texture of an English Angora. Bred to Big Mama he should produce some huge babies with large amounts of nice soft wool.

Angora Affaire's Big Mama - Lilac 1/2 English, 1/2 Giant Doe

Big Mama came to us with a totally different name, but I couldn't stop calling her that because it just fit. Eventually I just changed her name. She also came to us at 9 lbs, and gained 1 1/2 lbs in the first 3 weeks. Now she holds steady at 10 1/2 - 11 1/2 lbs which is what her healthy weight is. She's the kind of doe who is grouchy and just wants to be a mommy. I was right in calling her Big Mama because her first litter for me was 8 babies. The pictures of them are on the for sale page and below. I'm really pleased with her because she produced 2 Black Silver Steel's for me. That is when the black hair shaft is tipped with silver, really beautiful.

The tort baby is Peanut Butter, the Steel babies are Eddie and Raven, the Black babies will be Nessie and Jasmine.  We seem to be having a doe breeding season and only have about one buck per litter. I need to put up new pictures of these guys because they are extreme fluffballs now full grown. You can see some of them listed below.

RGM & Mom's Peanut Butter Senior Chocolate Tort Doe. 1/4 Giant, 3/4 English Angora. AA's Puppy x AA's Big Mama. Possibly for sale $75.

Peanut Butter has turned out to be a super wooler like her mama. We showed her when she was still a junior & the judges were really impressed with her wool. Big Mama will produce as much at a 60 day shearing as a purebred English will at 90 days & Peanut butter seems to be following that trend. She is just over 7 lbs right now & will probably do what Big Mama did and get bigger at just over a year old. When we got Big Mama she was right at 9 lbs & now stays between 10 1/2 -11 lbs.

I'm thinking about selling her because she will most likely be too big to show, but she will be an awesome wooler so I'm tempted to keep her for that reason. If someone who will appreciate her as an awesome wooler is interested I'll sell her to the right person.

Peanut Butter is a couch potato & loves to just lounge around all day. This morning I brought her in the house for some exercise & she was having a blast running up and down the hall & trying to explore. It was the first time I've seen her do much running around since she was a baby. I love Giants for their docile nature & she definitely takes after the Giant part of her heritage.

I'm not super happy with this picture because right before her being groomed for the picture she decided to explore the shower & get her paws & chin all wet. I do like it because you can see her coloring and cute little face & ears though. She has 3" - 4" wool in the picture at about 65 days since her last shearing.

Snow White: 100% German Angora, REW, Jr. Doe

Snow White is a purebred German that I purchased as a wooler. Eventually we will breed her to an English buck to make a better wooler. She came to us about 3 weeks after being shorn and looked pretty silly so we dressed her up. Now she's starting to look pretty fluffy. She's the sweetest bunny ever too. She enjoys being held like a baby.

She just gave 6 1/2 ounces from her 90 day shearing and since she's not done growing I expect around 8 ounces from her next time.
